About Basecamp

Basecamp is a transformative educational program that will provide ​select high school students with the education, mentorship, and resources to become successful entrepreneurs and innovators. ​Students will come in with an idea ​and ​leave with a startup! ​The program is open to all high school students.

Students will gain access to DMZ resources, mentorship, and on-demand learning within specialized topics such as design, 3D printing, web and application​ development and more.

What Does Basecamp Provide?

Education

Over the 6 weeks, students will be in the Launch Zone and learn various entrepreneurial and business concepts. The first 2 weeks will be focused on refining the business model & accomplishing customer discovery.    

Mentors and Advisors

Full time mentors from different fields (i.e. creative, technology, and business) will be available to guide students through the process of creating a successful venture. These networks will be invaluable for both their personal and professional development.

On-demand Learning

Students will also have access to a wide range of support and opportunities from the DMZ and the Ryerson community. Students will also be offered additional learning technical skills such as web and mobile development, design, and social media analytics when necessary.
